• Lisa Koch

  DVM

  Dr. Lisa (Schnurbusch) Koch was born & raised in Madison, Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for her undergraduate studies with a major in genetics and a minor in German. She attended veterinary school at the Justus-Liebig-Universitat in Giessen, Germany and graduated in 1989. She has been practicing veterinary medicine in Wisconsin since 1995 and has been with VCA Companion Care Animal Hospital since December 2004. Dr. Lisa is married and the proud pet parent of 2 Leonbergers--Nigel and Cedric and a very grumpy cat named LaVerne. In her free time she enjoys gardening and various DIY home improvement projects (most of which she admits never get finished).

• Karen Swenson

  DVM

  Dr. Karen Swenson is a native of central Wisconsin. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Swenson has been sharing her compassion for people and their furry family members at Companion Care since 2001. She lives in Wausau with her family, including her Shih Tzu, "Soda".

• Dr. Brandy Kosterman

  DVM

  Dr. Brandy Kosterman graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She came to work for VCA Companion Care Animal Hospital in 2010 after spending almost 5 years working at a small animal emergency clinic in central Wisconsin. She brings with her to VCA a passion for emergency and critical care medicine. She enjoys living in a rural countryside with her husband and young daughter. Their animal family consists of a dog and a horse. While not at work she enjoys spending time with family and friends, horseback riding, scrapbooking, biking & reading a good book.

• Leslie Hawley

  DVM, Associate Veterinarian

  Dr. Leslie Hawley grew up in Winona, Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota for her undergraduate studies in Biology and Spanish. She worked as a veterinary technician for two years prior to attending vet school at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Hawley completed a small animal internship at VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Services this summer, and joined Team Companion Care in August 2015. Her special interests include surgery, orthopedics, and preventative medicine. Dr. Hawley has a spunky cat named Bobbi, and Boston Terrier/Pug (aka"Bug") names Francis, and an Appaloosa/Arabian horse named Kismet. In her free time she enjoys reading, scary movies, horseback riding, and hanging out with her human and animal family and friends.
